ACQUIRED BRAIN INJURY PROGRAM (ABI)
From Surviving to Thriving, we are committed to person-centered planning, empowering our brain injury survivors to actively share their own futures.
Companions

Work one-on-one with individuals to help improve their ability to live independently in the community. Provide non-medical care, supervision, and socialization in accordance with the client’s service plan.
Full Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem Schedules Available. Companion positions available Evenings, Overnights and Weekends. #HCA.0001083

Companion Requirements:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Reliable transportation, good driving record, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILST)

Deliver services on an individual basis to persons with acquired brain injuries who qualify for the State of Connecticut ABI Waiver Program. Services provided will improve the individual’s ability to live independently in the community by developing and implementing cognitive/behavioral interventions and effective training strategies.
Full Time, Part Time, and Per Diem Schedules Available. ILST positions available Days, Evenings and Weekends.

ILST Requirements:
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent, and 2 years’ experience working with ABI OR Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year experience working with ABI in a community based setting.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Reliable transportation, good driving record, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

SPECIAL EDUCATION SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM (SESS)
One positive relationship can transform a student's life. That's why we carefully select mentors to partner with each student, their family and educators. Together, this team supports the student and builds independence.
Education mentor

Provide highly individualized educational instruction to students with disabilities in both school and community settings. Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary educational team to present, review and assess the learning needs of the student, including the behavioral and emotional issues impacting the attainment of the student’s educational goals.
Full Time, Part Time and Per Diem Schedules Available during Weekday Day hours.

Mentor Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience in human services, education in disabilities, and/or education required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Reliable transportation, good driving record, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Ability to obtain an Endorsement A license upon hire

Job Coach

Assist an individual with a disability to maintain paid employment by assessing work skills and behaviors and providing vocational supports as well as skills training. Ideal for individuals able to work during the day as needed but wanting flexibility for personal plans. Qualified candidates including college students and retirees welcome to apply.

Program Manager

At Project Genesis, Program Managers responsibilities include case management, program coordination, hiring, supervision, retention, scheduling, billing, reporting and implementing behavior plans. The position is responsible to maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders and ensure documentation meets standards set by federal, state and local guidelines.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education or a related field.
  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • 2 years experience working with disabilities
