ABI Program

Since 1999, Project Genesis has been a provider for the State of Connecticut Medicaid Waiver for Acquired Brain Injury in eastern and central Connecticut. Project Genesis works to provide the highest caliber of supports, directed toward an individual's development of skills necessary to enjoy an independent and productive lifestyle. We are committed to the concept of person-centered planning. Project Genesis believes that cooperation and positive communication among interdisciplinary team members is essential to the success of the individual and the delivery of superior services.

ABI Waiver Services include:

  • Independent Living Skills Training.
  • Supported Employment Services.
  • Pre-Vocational Services.
  • Case Management.
  • Companion Supports.
  • Transportation.

Individuals working with Project Genesis:

  • Live independently in their own homes and in the communities of their choice.
  • Pursue work goals by volunteering, learning pre-vocational skills, or obtaining competitive employment.
  • Continue with PT, OT, and SLP exercises in their own home after discharge from medical services.
  • Access community resources such as social service agencies, gyms, theaters, restaurants, groups clubs, churches, friends, etc.
  • Pursue individual goals such as speaking at community groups, participating in statewide retreats, planning family functions, and taking educational classes.
